When do I need a fit / sick note?
7 days off sick or less
You do not require a doctor's certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. You can complete a self certification form (SC2) which you can get from your employer or from the GOV.UK website.
More than 7 days off sick
For illnesses lasting more than seven days, you will need to see a doctor for a fit note to be issued.
